The story behind the postcards
I spent the past year creating big paintings: big landscapes, big portraits, and big abstracts.
But each big painting began with a small painted sketch.
I hung these "sketches" on my wall and gradually my studio filled up with little squares of color. I loved them. I often loved them more than my larger paintings.
So I decided to make a change.
I created a collection of twelve miniature paintings, each one based on a specific memory or place that is important to me. They are like postcards from my past, reminding me of some of my favorite moments.
I hope that some of them will resonate with you, and perhaps remind you of a treasured memory or place.
